Police charge girlfriend in Poughkeepsie man's death

A Town of Poughkeepsie woman flagged down a patrol officer early Thursday morning saying she had been in an incident with her boyfriend and was later charged with his death.

Nicole Addimando, 28, was charged with second-degree murder, a felony, for killing Christopher Grover, 30, according to a town police press release. Capt. Kenneth Roman said he was found "with gunshot wounds."

The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting is ongoing.

Police said Addimando stopped the patrol officer at about 2:16 a.m. When police went to check on the welfare of Grover, they found him deceased in the couple’s residence at 106 Van Wagner Road.

Addimando was arraigned in Town of Poughkeepsie Justice Court and remanded to Dutchess County Jail without bail.

She’s set to reappear in court Oct. 2 at 11 a.m.

The Dutchess County Medical Examiner has scheduled an autopsy for Friday morning, according to Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Dennis Chute.

The Town of Poughkeepsie Police Department was assisted at the scene by the Dutchess County Sheriff's office and state police.
