The Poughkeepsie Galleria will celebrate its 30th anniversary Friday and Saturday, recognizing the mainstays of the Dutchess County mall and offering prizes to guests.

Shoppers mill about the Poughkeepsie Galleria in the Town of Poughkeepsie on Saturday.

The Poughkeepsie Galleria first opened on Aug. 4, 1987. Festivities will be held at the Galleria's center court, near the staircase.

"We'll have plenty going on to celebrate Friday and Saturday for our 30th anniversary," said Jessica Pecchia, marketing director at the Poughkeepsie Galleria.

The celebration will kick off at 4 p.m. with a ribbon cutting ceremony by the Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce, recognizing the Poughkeepsie Galleria's history in the area.

And a raffle during the event will offer winners prizes such as diamond earrings or a television.
