Diners who missed out on eating at the short-lived Rabbit & Turtle in the City of Poughkeepsie have been granted a second chance.

The restaurant will host a grand reopening on March 3, bringing back its mix of pub favorites and eclectic, new American fare, said owner Pascal Graff.

Rabbit & Turtle originally opened Nov. 2015, operating for about eight months before closing around July.

While he declined to comment on specific reasons for the closure, Graff said it had to do with disagreements with his former partner at the restaurant.

"Before when we opened, we were two partners, but it didn't work out," Graff said.

The reopened restaurant will deliver the same dual concept — a pub area with quick bites and a more relaxed dining area with an expanded menu.

The Turtle menu featured dishes such as the Yellow Fin Tuna and the Sirloin Flap, while the Rabbit menu offered pub food such as the Smashed Burger or Disco Fries. The menu also featured draft beer, cocktails and wine.

"It will be just like before, but more in tune with Poughkeepsie and what the people want," Graff said.

Fans of Rabbit & Turtle can also expect some minor changes, with new decorations expected.

The grand opening is slated for 4 p.m. on March 3 at 302 Main St. For more information, visit the event page at facebook.com/events/275907446156664 or call 845-345-9964.
