BEACON – The Beacon City School District community will have a chance to talk to interim Superintendent Barbara Walkley during an hour-long open forum, officials said.

On Monday night, district parents and local residents can ask her questions or just "find out what's going on," district officials said.

Walkley has been planning on hosting the forum as a way to encourage open dialogue since she stepped into the interim role, according to the district.

She took over as interim chief on Aug. 1, the day that former Superintendent Paul Dorward's resignation became effective.

Dorward said then that his resignation was "a mutual agreement."

Walkley was the eighth leadership switch in eight years.

There were five permanent employees among the eight leadership changes; the other three switches are interim superintendents, including Walkley, who suspended her retirement to take on the role for the 2014-15 school year.
